International fashion houses to hit Men’s Fashion Week

Men’s Fashion Week is commercial, promotional and artistic fashion forum created upon European standard, identical to similar international fashion events as part of the world fashion calendar with its unique format, strategy of development and location in Europe and the world.

The Fashion Week Calendar with the whole program for the event was announced on 23rd December 2011 – one month before the opening of the international fashion forum on 24th January 2012, together with presentation of the official website.

Men’s Fashion Week is cultural and business event, which is held twice a year, to represent men’s wear of Bulgarian, European and international designers and fashion houses during a period of one week by fashion defiles with the representatives of show rooms in the format chosen by the participant:

- Independent Fashion Defile
- Fashion Defile with Shared Time for 2 Participants
- Group Fashion Defile for 3 Designers or Fashion Houses
- Private Fashion Party

Jo Storie’s ‘Modern Heritage’ range – a catwalk couture

Scottish designer Jo Storie brings catwalk knitwear to yarn lovers everywhere with the launch of her first range of knitting patterns.

The newly available designs in the ‘Modern Heritage’ range come directly from the sketchbook of the international designer and can now be purchased by knitters from all over the world.

Based in the Scottish Borders, the former knitwear designer and director for TSE Cashmere; Ballantyne Cashmere; J. Crew and Ann Taylor, has already established a global following. With many eager to get their hands on a Jo Storie original the designer has taken the bold step to offer her patterns to discerning knitters.

Taking a modern twist on traditional stitches to create contemporary pieces, the patterns available from £3 upwards include cardigans, hats, snoods, scarves and bags as well as cushions and throws.

With a guide to the level of difficultly ranging from beginner to intermediate, each design includes simple instructions on how to create that sought-after couture piece as well as instructions on the wool to use.

Storie, said: “Throughout my career creating designs for the world’s catwalks I have come across many knitters who were looking for something different to get their ‘needles’ in to. So inspired by this eager knitting fraternity, I decided to make my designs accessible to as wide an audience as possible.

Darius Gibbs, Vasilevsky to rock the runway for a cause

Menswear Designer Darius B. Gibbs together with other designers like Elena Vasilevsky in collaboration with DBK Dream Believe Know It Foundation will rock the runway for a purpose to strut out bullying.

Darius B. Gibbs will be showcasing his Menswear line called DARK by Darius B. Gibbs and his Women’s line called LIGHT by Darius B. Gibbs on January 20, 2012 at 9:00PM.

We have seen his collections on the runway and several fashion shows and charity events. “I love to participate and support any charitable institution with a great cause.“ Darius said.

The DBK Foundation’s mission is to provide educationally based programs, workshops and seminars to the youth of our nation. The DBK Foundation accomplishes this by traveling through America, embracing our nation’s communities and using our school systems as platforms from which to launch our programs.

The DBK Foundation believes that it is our responsibility to make a difference in the lives of our children. The youth of our nation are our future, and because of this, we offer unique opportunities which assist them in realizing their true and full potential.

UTS Graduate Fashion Show 2011


The UTS Graduate Fashion Show profiles awe-inspiring new designs by the next generation of Australian fashion and textile designers.

The UTS Graduate Fashion Show held at UTS Great Hall, level 4, building 1 on the date of 6 December 2011.

Eagerly anticipated by industry and fashion aficionados alike, this year’s UTS graduates will showcase a diverse range of fashion and textile collections including mens and womens wear, swimwear and knitwear. Graduates also include fashion media students, textile collection and footwear designers.

Each show will feature 20 runway collections that will introduce the fresh, creative visions from the fashion industry's next crop of bright, young designers. Be inspired by work from one of Australia's most competitive fashion & textiles degrees, where graduates go on to build international careers with brands such as Akira Isagowa, Sass & Bide, Ginger & Smart, Abercrombie & Fitch and Alexander McQueen.

Show A: Doors open at 7pm and will close at 7.30pm for the start of the show.
